friendly competition
Greetings all,
The Naringal Militia proudly offers up a chance for ye to test ye skills and possibly win some gold for doing it. With the new arena constructed in Haven we be thinking we need some people fighting in it. So we be offering a friendly five tap competition for any interested. The rules be simple 2 enter and the first to tap the other 3 times wins that round. it be a double elimination tournament with seeding to be determined by luck of the draw. Entry fee id 5 gold with the tournament winner getting 1/2 of the gold collected. The militia keeps the other 1/2 to help pay for the cost of constructing the arena. So come help the militia and have a chance to win some gold and train for battle.
See Sergent Arvil Boulderbreaker for any wagers ye wish to place on the combatants.

Re: friendly competition
Well, you know how I stand on this, sir...you and I have been scheduled to fight first, isn't that right? I'd love the chance to earn some extra gold while not having to fend for my life.

Friendly comp.
I, as well as many others, would like to know what the complete rules are. Blade vs. Blade, Sword n' Board vs. Sword n' Board? Please do us all a favor for us that wish to compete, and give us all options to this spectacular event to christen the new arena. Thank you Sir Dwarf.

Re: friendly competition
Good to see some interest in this friendly contest. As for rules they be:
1) Each fighter will have 1 weapon, if both combatants agree then any combination of weapons can be used for that match.
2) No spells, gasses, or traps may be used.
3) Each fight is to be fought honorably.
4) Double elimination, ye lose twice and ye out.
5) A judge(s) will be watching to score the match.
If ye have any other questions simply ask me.

Re: friendly competition
The reason we are not expanding the tournament to gases and spells are because both are quite valuable in this wild land. That is also why no blood will be shed or armor breached. Friendly competition will sharpen skills. If the Mage's Guild can figure out a way to restore used magics or the Alchemists can afford to throw gases to chance, we might allow a special contest. As for now, melee only. Strength is not a factor in 5 tap, therefore a quick Mage may win over a slow fighter. In addition, the Militia will be conducting group v. group drills to improve its skills.
