Open Cell Foam

So I'm making a long sword boffer for my future alt (a sword and board fighter type), and wondering where I can buy open cell foam? I went to Lowe's this weekend and they didn't carry it. Any particular brand that works better than others?

Second question: Think about making a tower shield. Have the general idea for the shape, not sure how to actually construct it. Please give me pointers/tips/websites.

At walmart... Or most store with a hardware section.... You can buy the strip of air conditioner insulation for about three bucks. It is gray and you can make a ton of thrusting tips out of each one. Plus it is simple because all you need to do is cut to lenth and trim off the corners. I think it is duck brand (like the tape) a car wasing sponge works too.
