People of the republic,

My recent journey into highlands has been quite troubling. Though there were many issues to attend to there were notable events that occurred that I feel that all should be made aware of.

After some of our companions fell to the gullet of a Manticore they were brought back in the nearest earth circle. Unfortunately this earth circle was one of many forged by a powerful Necromancer. Though necromancy has never been fully frowned upon by our people, this individual is trying to obtain lichdom through the thievery of souls and not through learned knowledge. From what we have learned, this caster has created several earth circles throughout the land. We have destroyed one of these circles in attempt to delay his progress however the necromancer has powerful magical items that allowed his to escape us. Adventurers should be ever vigilant of this rogue necromancer.

The most distressing news was obtained late in the evening from our allies in the underdark. The Vornae civil war had reached its apex late in the evening as we learned from a whispering wind. We travelled to one of the royal houses of the allied Vornae only to find the remains of the queen. The army of the blackhats was overwhelming. We fought valiantly against Vornae and goblins as our allies were slaughtered by ettercaps, spiders, driders, trolls, a massive minotaur, and a thoul. Unfortunately, we were overwhelmed as well and we had to flee to the surface. Sadly it is apparent that the allied forces of the dark elves have been destroyed. Therefore, this is to stand as a warning that any vornae encountered in the lands of Naringal should be approached with extreme caution and considered a threat to the people of the republic. It is regrettable that the royal house of our vornae allies has been destroyed however, on a personal note, the loss of our Vornae friend Lord Kurai Kyuuai will give the entire republic a moment of mourning.

^{**There are many in these lands that are unaware of what a Thoul is. In fact even with my extensive research there is only little that I can relay. A thoul is an amalgamation of mystic effort and creature husbandry probably by hobgoblin masters. Though smaller than most trolls, this creature has the trolls inherent ability to regenerate with the tenacity in battle that hobgoblins are well known for. Most troubling is the thoul’s ability to paralyze living creatures with their claws much like that of a ghoul. Please do not be confused, these creatures are not undead; they are living creatures with a magical connection to ghouls that has been carried throughout their bloodlines.}

Where does this leave us? Whats the plan?

Kouga,

This currently leaves us in Naringal with No allied forces. We are currently working on developing our next course of action, just for now keep safe and be careful who you speak with. We will let you know once we have plans in motion.

Now is the time, for the people of Naringal to rise up and defend this land.
